Visit the Montgomery Mall this weekend for the Annual Earth Day Celebration – here are the details:

Date of Event: Saturday, April 21, 2012

Location: Montgomery Mall- Outside and Lower Level Macy’s Court

Details: The 21st Annual Annual Earth Day Celebration brought to you by Montgomery Mall, Montgomery Township and the Wissahickon Watershed will include the following events:

  • 10:00am to 1:00pm in the Parking Lot FREE Residential Shredding (limit:3 file-sized boxes, no businesses please) FREE Electronics Recycling Compliments of 1-800-GOT-JUNK (No businesses please, No TV’s or household appliances).
  • 11:00am to 4:00pm on the Lower Level of Macy’s Court you’ll find Information and Demonstrations on: Composting, Raised Bed Gardens, Rain Barrells, Rain and Storm water management, Solar Panels, Energy Conservation, Kids Crafts, FREE Reusable Shopping Bags, and Energy Efficient Cars.
  • There will also be some key note speakers at the Earth Day Celebration:
    • 1:00pm: Richard Whiteford, Climate Reality Project — “An Inconvenient Truth”
    • 2:00pm: Anne Crowley, PennFuture — “Local Impacts & Actions”
    • 3:00pm: Thomas Schneider, North Penn School District, — “Save BIG $ with Small Changes.”
